About the session
Evidence-Based ABA Strategies for Inclusion Teams and Behavior Support Staff
Challenging behavior in mainstream classrooms is a common concern in inclusive schools. If not understood and managed early, it can affect learning, increase stress for teachers, and reduce students' access to education.
This training gives practical tools to understand why behavior happens and how to prevent and manage it in school settings.
You will learn simple behavior assessment (FBA) and ways to prevent problems before they start. You will also learn how to teach better replacement behaviors and how to handle escalation safely.
The session is practical and easy to apply, with real classroom examples. It gives step-by-step strategies that teachers and staff can use right away.
Learning objectives
- Understand the purpose and basic process of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) in school settings.
- Identify and apply antecedent strategies to prevent challenging behavior in classrooms.
- Implement effective de-escalation techniques during early and advanced behavior escalation phases.
- Teach and reinforce replacement behaviors that serve the same function as challenging behavior.
- Apply crisis prevention strategies to reduce risk and maintain safety in school environments.
